Today Cindy took me and the kids to the Texas History Museum in Austin. Like and idiot I forgot my camera - too bad, there was some interesting stuff there. Along with all the displays of historical interest was an IMAX theatre. One of the features playing there was "Space Station 3D", which, aside from being quite a spactacle in its own right, had special meaning to me - not only was the material presented familiar to me from my visit to the Johnson Space Center, some of the people I met or heard a lot about (specifically Pam Melroy and Sergie Krikiliev) were actually in the film.

Later in the evening we went out to the "bat cave", which is actually a bridge over the river in Austin. At dusk, approximately 1.5 million bats that live in the bridge fly out for their evening feeding. People come out to the adjacent park area with their chairs and coolers just to watch the bats. I tried to get some pictures but it was really too dark.
