Kass's house has a very colorful history. It used to be an inn and a tavern, built early in the century - the street the house is on is still called Elsie Inn. It is just a few minutes walk from White Bear Lake (the only white bears I know of are polar bears - but I'm fairly sure that Minnesota, though frigid in winter, doesn't have any - so where does the name come from?). During prohibition, the inn was well known as a speak-easy, and also rumored to offer other pleasures from time to time. The area was a known hang-out for gangsters, and Baby Face Nelson lived just a few blocks away. Sounds a little like the house I shared with 4 other guys my senior year of college.

Kass and Mary are at work, I'm arranging an alternative host for my website since Earthlink won't budge on making the copy on their server available again.

That, and I played a little Photoshop to transform some pictures.

Al little background - I met Kass in Tucson in 1983. We were co-workers when I was down there contracting to United Technologies after my first divorce. It seems like every time I get divorced my life oges off on some other tangent. Last time I got divorced, I ended up as an independent consultant making about twice what I was making on salary. I wonder if the same thing will happen this time with whatever endeavor (or just plain wild-assed idea) I decide to pursue.

Merci

I also got to spend a little time with my "grandchildren". About 12 years ago I had a cat who had kittens, and Kass took 2 of them. After 12 years, they're still doing fine.
